Position Summary
Collaborative ABA Services, LLC is looking for dedicated and dependable Behavior Support Specialists to enhance our vibrant team. The Behavior Support Specialist operates under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in various environments including home, school, community, and clinic settings. The primary responsibility of the Behavior Support Specialist is to directly implement skill-building programs and behavioral intervention strategies as designed by the BCBA. This role includes data collection during sessions and may involve assisting the BCBA with specific assessments (e.g., preference assessments).

This position is available on a part-time/full-time basis, working with assigned cases (ages 3-18) in their respective environments. Immediate openings are available for the following cases:

Bloomfield, CT: 7-year-old male, 3:30-5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with up to 15 hours per week authorized.

Rocky Hill, CT: 8-year-old male, 4:30-6:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with up to 18 hours per week authorized.

Middletown, CT: 2.5-year-old male, in-home, with potential for future preschool attendance. Morning hours available from 9 AM to 12 PM, with possible additional hours.

Middletown, CT Clinic: 10 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday.

Farmington, CT: 12-year-old female, 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday, approved for up to 15 hours per week. Requires Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification. Certification as a Tricare provider is advantageous but assistance with certification will be provided.

Meriden, CT: 5-year-old male, in-home, transitioning from preschool to kindergarten. After school hours, Monday to Friday, approved for up to 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized behavioral services to children (ages 3-18) utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis as directed by the Behavior Analyst.
  • Record and document child behaviors and skill advancements using electronic data collection tools.
  • Engage in training sessions to enhance professional growth and ensure high-quality ABA services.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisory personnel.
  • Uphold client confidentiality and respect.
  • Safeguard the well-being of clients during treatment sessions.
  • Receive ongoing supervision from a BCBA.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Social Work, Speech and Language, Child Development, Special Education, or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children/adolescents with special needs, including Autism, using ABA-focused interventions is preferred.
  • RBT Certification is preferred but not mandatory. The company will provide RBT training.
  • Availability to work during daytime and/or after school hours according to family and child schedules.
  • Willingness to travel to clients' homes in designated counties.
  • Possession of reliable transportation and insurance is required.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform various physical activities, including stooping, standing, reaching, lifting, pulling, walking, pushing, grasping, hearing, speaking, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when working with children with special needs and behavioral challenges.
  • Capability to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods.
  • Visual acuity to read and comprehend written or typed communication.
  • Physical presence at assigned job locations in home, school, and community settings is necessary.
