Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role of the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is to actively engage, observe, gather data, and report on various behavioral support service delivery methods tailored to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. In addition to standard RBT responsibilities, the lead RBT will undertake additional duties to ensure the efficient operation of the ABA department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of autism spectrum disorders.
  • Exhibit collaboration, enthusiasm, and commitment to the success of Friendship Community Care and its services.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and CARF accreditation standards.
  • Support community engagement efforts for public relations.
  • Implement care plans as directed by the Behavior Analyst.
  • Assist the Behavior Analyst with behavior reduction assessments and skill acquisition strategies.
  • Instruct specific behavioral skills as outlined in treatment plans.
  • Foster social skills development.
  • Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with training related to autism spectrum disorders.
  • Apply best practices in applied behavior analysis programming.
  • Accurately collect and document data during treatment sessions.
  • Ensure timely entry of all collected data into the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Engage clients effectively, create incidental learning opportunities, teach appropriate play and social skills, and reinforce desired behaviors.
  • Regularly collect measurable behavior data and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Participate in professional meetings or conferences as required.
  • Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Friendship Community Care.
  • Assist the BCBA in training new RBT staff, including familiarization with internal systems and daily operations.
  • Support the BCBA with material procurement and scheduling of clients and RBTs.
  • Contribute to community events promoting ABA and Friendship Community Care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position is safety-sensitive.

Maintain confidentiality regarding all information related to Friendship Community Care and its clients, in accordance with the organization's Non-Disclosure Policy and HIPAA regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong time management, observational, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills for both written and verbal information.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must achieve the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of the RBT exam through BACB.
  • Preferred experience with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, write, and interpret medical histories, assessment reports, and relevant data. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively speaking before groups of clients or colleagues.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data through graphs and ratios.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions in multiple formats.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
