Position Responsibilities

The Animal Care Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our patients. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing care, feeding, and medication to animals in both the hospital and boarding facilities.
  • Maintaining cleanliness through thorough cleaning, laundry, and bathing of animals.
  • Walking dogs and ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Restocking medical supplies and assisting with post-operative care.
  • Supporting veterinarians and veterinary assistants during examinations and procedures.
  • Keeping accurate records of medications, dietary needs, and any behavioral changes.
  • Learning to properly clean and sterilize surgical instruments as needed.
Qualifications

  • A solid understanding of cleaning and disinfection protocols.
  • Knowledge of safe animal handling and restraint techniques.
  • The ability to effectively use cleaning equipment and materials.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks involving heavy lifting and movement of large animals.

  • A willingness to learn about medication administration and recognizing health issues.
  • Strong communication skills to follow instructions and collaborate with team members.
