Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must obtain the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within the initial 60 days of employment and successfully pass the RBT examination through BACB. Preferred experience includes working with individuals diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities.

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary role of the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is to actively engage, monitor, collect data, and report on various behavioral support service delivery methods tailored to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. In addition to the RBT responsibilities, the lead RBT will undertake additional duties to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the ABA department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of autism spectrum disorders.
  • Exhibit cooperation, enthusiasm, and commitment to the success of Friendship Community Care and its services.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, state and federal regulations, and CARF accreditation standards.
  • Support community engagement initiatives for public relations.
  • Implement care plans as directed by the Behavior Analyst.
  • Assist the Behavior Analyst with behavior reduction assessments and skill acquisition strategies.
  • Teach specific behavioral skills as outlined in treatment plans.
  • Foster social skills development.
  • Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with training related to autism spectrum disorders.
  • Apply best practices in applied behavior analysis programming.
  • Accurately collect and document data during treatment sessions.
  • Ensure timely entry of all collected data into the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Engage clients, create incidental learning opportunities, teach appropriate play and social skills, and reinforce desired behaviors.
  • Collect quantifiable behavioral data at regular intervals and maintain necessary documentation.
  • Participate in professional meetings or conferences as assigned.
  • Adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Friendship Community Care.
  • Assist the BCBA in training new RBT staff, including familiarization with relevant systems and daily operations.
  • Support the BCBA with material procurement and scheduling management.
  • Participate in community events promoting ABA and Friendship Community Care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position is classified as safety-sensitive.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must obtain the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of the RBT exam through BACB.
  • Preferred experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism or other developmental disabilities.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

Ability to read, write, and interpret medical histories, assessment reports, and relevant data. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively communicating before groups of clients or colleagues.

MATHEMATICAL ABILITY:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and interpret data using various measurement units, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

REASONING SKILLS:

Ability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Capable of interpreting diverse instructions presented in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
