Overview

Reporting to the Event Services Manager, the Event Operations Supervisor will manage and guide the Event Staff. This role is crucial in enhancing guest experiences and creating memorable moments for both attendees and staff. The position requires close collaboration with event managers and may necessitate making informed decisions to deliver exceptional customer service within established policies and procedures.

This role offers an hourly wage of $20.

Benefits for part-time roles include a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

This position will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of event day staff, including ticket takers, ushers, and third-party security personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with Event Managers and Guest Services Manager to ensure all event-related information is effectively communicated to part-time staff.
  • Prepare assigned areas for guests, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor and a helpful attitude as doors/gates open.
  • Oversee the scanning of event tickets to ensure proper entry.
  • Assist attendees in finding their seats.
  • Remain vigilant and proactive regarding potential hazards, reporting incidents as they arise.
  • Manage staff in your designated area, addressing issues and identifying opportunities to create lasting memories for guests.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all guest concerns and complaints, escalating issues to the Event Manager or Guest Services Coordinator as necessary.
  • Assist guests in ADA accessible seating sections.
  • Enforce all venue policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for all attendees.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Manage the flow of foot traffic during large events.
  • Report, respond to, and document all incidents occurring during events, including medical or safety-related incidents.
  • Be knowledgeable about the arena's emergency evacuation plan to assist guests safely in the event of an emergency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience in hospitality, entertainment, or security environments is preferred.
  • Leadership experience is advantageous.
  • A passion for working with and assisting people is essential.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods is required.
  • Must maintain a POSITIVE attitude while managing challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and provide creative solutions to challenges on the spot.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • This position may require working at events both indoors and outdoors.
