Overview

Reporting to the Event Services Manager, the Event Operations Supervisor will manage and guide the Event Staff. This role is crucial for enhancing guest experiences and creating memorable moments for both staff and attendees. The position requires close collaboration with event managers and may involve making informed decisions to ensure exceptional customer service within established policies and procedures.

This role offers an hourly wage of $20.

Benefits for part-time roles include a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

This position will remain open until filled.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the day-of management of event team members, including ticket takers, ushers, and third-party security personnel.
  • Collaborate closely with the Event Managers and Guest Services Manager to ensure all event-related information is effectively communicated to part-time staff.
  • Prepare your designated area for guests, including reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor and a helpful attitude as doors/gates open.
  • Oversee the scanning of event tickets to ensure proper entry.
  • Assist attendees in finding their seats.
  • Remain vigilant and proactive regarding potential hazards, reporting incidents as they arise.
  • Manage staff in your assigned area, addressing issues and identifying opportunities to create lasting memories for guests.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to all guest concerns and complaints, reporting any issues to the Event Manager or Guest Services Coordinator.
  • Assist guests in ADA accessible seating sections.
  • Enforce all venue policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for all attendees.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Manage foot traffic flow during large events.
  • Report, respond to, and document all incidents occurring during an event, including medical or safety-related incidents.
  • Be knowledgeable about the arena's emergency evacuation plan to assist guests safely in the event of an emergency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience in hospitality, entertainment, or security environments is preferred.
  • Leadership experience is advantageous.
  • A passion for working with and assisting people is essential.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods is required.
  • Must maintain a POSITIVE attitude while managing challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and provide creative solutions to challenges.
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Position may require working events both indoors and outdoors.
