Banquet Supervisor Job Description

At Waterside District, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Supervisor to join our team. As a Banquet Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of banquets and events, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Management: Supervise day-of banquets, including communicating objectives to team members, scheduling and assigning work, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Quality Control: Inspect function areas, table set-ups, bar set-ups, buffet tables, receptions, and coffee breaks for cleanliness, attractiveness, and proper layout.
  • Guest Service: Ensure guests are greeted upon arrival, respond to guest requests and complaints in a prompt and professional manner, and establish and implement service recovery guidelines to ensure total guest satisfaction.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain procedures to ensure the security and proper storage of banquet inventory and equipment, replenish supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimize misuse and breakage of china, glassware, linen, and supplies.
  • Team Leadership: Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year's experience with banquets and food and beverage operations training and operations, including one year supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must speak fluent English.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and communicate efficiently, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional time management and organization skills.
