POSITION SUMMARY: The Catering Sales Manager is tasked with cultivating and nurturing business through proactive direct sales, marketing initiatives, external sales visits, and hotel tours. This role will focus on weddings and social gatherings, achieving revenue targets by actively promoting and upselling each business opportunity in a dynamic environment. The Catering Sales Manager enhances customer loyalty by delivering exceptional service throughout every interaction.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of sales experience is required.
  • Previous hotel experience is preferred.
  • Experience in guest/customer relations is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical capability to lift/transport at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 125 pounds.
  • Willingness to perform various physical movements throughout the work environment.
  • Effective communication with guests, management, and colleagues.
  • Must be able to stand and maintain mobility for up to 8 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate group events within established booking parameters, ensuring seamless and accurate sales processes. Key markets include Weddings, Social Events, Fraternal, and Religious gatherings.
  • Promote additional products and services, securing optimal opportunities for the property based on market trends and property requirements.
  • Collect and input essential customer information to facilitate effective planning (e.g., customer objectives, specific requirements, key account details).
  • Provide thorough and effective handover to Event Coordination and Food & Beverage teams.
  • Accurately document all contract details in the property’s CI.TY system.
  • Assist clients with requests for equipment rentals, AV/technology, decorations, room setups, etc.
  • Identify operational challenges related to group events and collaborate with property staff and clients to devise solutions.
  • Represent the sales department in staff meetings and report on sales activities.
  • Ensure site inspections are conducted; verify proper and timely turnover of business for quality service delivery.
  • Adhere to all company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.
