Proper Food has established itself as a leading provider of quality meals since its inception in 2014, expanding to multiple locations across the Bay Area and New York. Our outlet at SFO, which opened in Terminal One, has quickly gained popularity among travelers and airport staff alike.

Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a skilled Operations Supervisor to manage our bustling location in Terminal One. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations of Proper Food SFO T1, collaborating closely with your General Manager and Director. The team at SFO comprises dedicated members, and as the Operations Supervisor, your leadership will shape the work environment and influence daily operations. We seek an individual who is communicative, reliable, friendly, enthusiastic, and diligent to oversee Proper Food SFO in Terminal One.

Our establishment operates daily, requiring your presence during peak hours and as necessary, with flexible availability. All food items are prepared at an off-site Commissary and delivered fresh each day, with in-store tasks including coffee preparation, meal heating, and packaging. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations, including inventory, staff breaks, labor management, deliveries, cleaning, and other essential tasks.
  • Uphold the company and store culture.
  • Train and develop team members, exemplifying customer service and food handling standards.
  • Monitor team performance, providing direct feedback and communicating any concerns to upper management.
  • Become an expert on the seasonal menu, knowledgeable about ingredients and dietary preferences.
  • Order supplies and oversee inventory management.
  • Adjust store orders and staffing proactively to maximize sales and minimize waste.
  • Handle accounting and cash management, including weekly bank deposits.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the store and its equipment.
  • Foster positive relationships with management, peers, and team members.
  • Be adaptable, ready to cover shifts in case of employee absences.
  • Actively participate in all roles within the team, demonstrating the responsibilities of Team Members and Shift Leads.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a retail or restaurant environment, managing a team of 8 or more.
  • Food Manager Certification (on-the-job certification can be provided within 90 days for the right candidate).
  • Open availability, as we operate 7 days a week, year-round.
