Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director, Business Development to lead our business development initiatives and drive revenue growth in line with our business plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing strategies to acquire clients, and providing direction and guidance to our sales team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue, market share, and margin growth in line with the business plan and lead business development initiatives that are consistent with the company's overall strategy.
  • Manage the consultative pitch process from beginning to end, including development of custom presentations and proposals.
  • Engage with senior-level customers to develop strategic and integrated partnerships.
  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of the department or locations for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and objectives.
  • Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Consult with executive-level stakeholders to assess achievements and required changes resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Develop business forecasts, financial budgets, and targets based on broad corporate goals and growth objectives.
  • Ensure that all divisional activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
  • Lead people development initiatives in staffing, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Maintain close contact with major business customers and participate in direct calls on new and/or existing customers.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, rates, and establish marketing goals/campaigns to ensure market share and profitability.
  • Represent the company at industry meetings to promote products/services.
  • Possess working knowledge of warehouse operating systems sufficient to direct efficiency and recommend system improvements.
  • Lead special projects committees/assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration is required.
  • Five plus years' work experience at a warehouse or logistics company is preferred.
