Position Summary

The Media Associate position serves as an excellent entry point for individuals looking to launch their careers in the dynamic field of advertising. At Publicis Media, we offer comprehensive training and development opportunities through our dedicated Media Training Program. Associates play a crucial role in the formulation, management, and oversight of client media strategies and investments.

In this role, you will collaborate with client teams, fostering strong relationships to provide insights and recommendations on optimal advertising expenditures.

Key Responsibilities

Media Negotiation & Strategy

  • Engage in team brainstorming sessions to initiate planning and strategy development.
  • Participate in negotiations, which may include evaluating RFPs, negotiating rates, and enhancing program value.
  • Assist in the creation and presentation of media-specific documentation, including media plans and tactical presentations.
  • Meet with vendors to stay informed about market innovations and build relationships within the vendor ecosystem.

Campaign Management & Implementation

  • Collaborate with Senior Associates to manage projects from proposal to completion, including compiling specifications, overseeing asset production, and securing brand approvals.
  • Generate insertion orders and manage placement and creative trafficking.
  • Compile post-launch campaign information, such as screenshots and placement details, to provide clients with proof of placement.
  • Oversee post-campaign reconciliation and billing processes.
  • Assist in managing daily communications with key stakeholders, including vendors, partner agencies, and creative media clients.

Media Training Program

All Associates participate in our Media Training Program, emerging with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in the media sector. The program consists of 25 classes and a group research project, with mentorship from experienced professionals and exposure to day-to-day agency operations and client relationship management.

Training Components

Classroom Instruction

The training classes provide an introductory overview of all departments and resources available at Publicis, helping new employees gain a comprehensive understanding of the media landscape. The curriculum includes foundational media topics such as Media 101, Planning 101, Media Math, and introductions to various Investment/Operations departments, along with essential skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and business etiquette.

Group Research Project

This project focuses on trending industry topics selected by senior leadership, allowing new employees to practice essential skills such as professional research, storytelling, and presentation development. Previous topics have included themes like Traditional Media in a Non-Traditional World and The Balance of Art and Science.

This position operates on a hybrid model, with expectations for in-office attendance three times per week. Compensation ranges from $47,000 to $52,000 annually, with benefits including medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
