Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY


Assists in overseeing the team while actively participating in the physical arrangement of event spaces (e.g., tables, chairs, dance floors, podiums, etc.) and executing events according to specified requirements and standards.

Aids in developing and guiding the team to deliver consistent, high-quality service. Communicates performance expectations and trains staff in operational processes. Monitors and manages financial and administrative responsibilities, including asset protection.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or a related professional field.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Supporting Event Operations

  • Ensures the Red Coat program is implemented in accordance with Catering Event Service minimum standards.
  • Delegates tasks to ensure timely room setups that meet Event Service Standards.
  • Manages departmental inventories and assets, including par levels and equipment maintenance.
  • Projects supply needs for the department (e.g., pads, pens, candy jars, bottled water/water pitchers).
  • Ensures candy rotation on all meeting room setups (if applicable).
  • Establishes consistent standards for regular and VIP meeting room setups.
  • Conducts inspections of function rooms prior to each event to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in all banquet operation areas.
  • Coordinates routine maintenance to ensure a quality meeting facility.
  • Acts as a liaison between Banquets, Event Planning, Event Delivery teams, and the group contact throughout the event.
  • Coordinates necessary departments to uphold meeting room standards.
  • Reviews the schedule weekly to ensure optimal space utilization.
  • Ensures function rooms are arranged according to event documentation (Banquet Event Orders, resumes, etc.) and customer specifications.

Delivering Exceptional Customer Service

  • Maintains a visible presence to customers at all times.
  • Remains available to resolve issues and/or propose alternatives to previous arrangements.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Engages with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Addresses and resolves guest problems and complaints.
  • Empowers team members to deliver outstanding customer service.

Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Establishes service goals for event service supervisors and staff to achieve Event Planner satisfaction objectives.
  • Ensures employees comprehend expectations and parameters.
  • Participates in all relevant meetings.
  • Leads shifts and actively engages in servicing events.
  • Communicates and executes departmental and property emergency procedures, ensuring staff are trained in safety protocols.
  • Conducts monthly department meetings with Event Service personnel.
  • Schedules staff to ensure shift coverage and meet business demands and productivity goals; critiques any variances.
The hourly pay range for this position is $24.04 to $29.81.
