Job Overview

Position Summary: The Amusement Park Manager is tasked with ensuring the safe, efficient, and clean operation of Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland Play Area.

Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to the role:

  • Maintain adequate stock levels in operational areas and place orders as necessary.
  • Communicate with maintenance personnel regarding ride issues, including downtime and safety protocols.
  • Ensure staff are well-versed in incident response procedures.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns both in person and through electronic means.
  • Maintain a prominent and approachable presence during operational hours.
  • Foster positive relationships with vendors, other departments, and staff.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure successful execution of internal events.
  • Manage all disciplinary matters effectively.
  • Participate in the development and facilitation of staff training and orientation programs.
  • Ensure timely completion and approval of all time sheets and schedules in accordance with payroll policies.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Oversee all Amusement Park personnel.
  • Act as a direct report to supervisors and team leads.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and legal standards.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; recommending rewards and disciplinary actions; and resolving complaints.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience managing frontline staff.
  • Ability to cultivate a positive rapport with team members to achieve objectives through motivation and delegation.
  • Capability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues such as payroll and employee health matters.
  • Proficiency in evaluating processes and suggesting improvements for efficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions, handling confidential matters as necessary.
  • Completion of AIMS/NAARSO Operations Level 1 is required at the earliest opportunity.
  • Completion of International Ride Training Instructor Course is required at the earliest opportunity.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid training is required at the earliest opportunity.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 training within the first year of employment is required.
