Job Overview

Position Summary: The Amusement Park Manager is tasked with ensuring the safe, efficient, and clean operation of Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland Play Area.

Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Train, schedule, and manage staff to guarantee outstanding customer service while adhering to budgetary constraints.

  • Communicate with maintenance personnel regarding ride issues, including downtime and safety protocols.
  • Ensure staff are well-versed in incident response procedures.
  • Handle guest inquiries both in person and via electronic communication.
  • Maintain a prominent and approachable presence during operational hours.
  • Foster positive relationships with vendors, other departments, and staff members.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure successful execution of internal events.
  • Manage all disciplinary actions.
  • Participate in the development and attendance of all staff training sessions and orientations.
  • Ensure that all time sheets, adjustments, and schedules are completed and approved in accordance with payroll policies.

Supervisory Duties:

  • Responsible for overseeing all Amusement Park personnel.
  • Serve as a direct report to supervisors and team leads.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; recommending rewards and disciplinary actions; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience managing frontline personnel.
  • Ability to cultivate a positive rapport with a team to achieve objectives through motivation and delegation.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive matters such as payroll or employee health issues.
  • Ability to assess processes and procedures, recommending efficiencies and improvements.
  • Must be capable of working independently and making sound decisions while handling confidential matters.
  • Completion of AIMS/NAARSO Operations Level 1 training is required at the earliest opportunity.
  • Completion of International Ride Training Instructor Course is required at the earliest opportunity.
  • Completion of CPR/First Aid training is required at the earliest opportunity.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 training within the first year of employment is required.

The physical demands will require the employee to consistently lift or move objects up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.

The noise level in the work environment is typically normal for an outdoor setting, with occasional elevated sound levels during special events.
