Manufacturing Engineer II - Second Shift

Position Overview:
With minimal oversight, the Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for independently preparing, executing, and assessing analyses aimed at enhancing and resolving manufacturing challenges (including production techniques and protocols) within a designated function (covering layout, production flow, tooling, and equipment, as well as material fabrication and assembly methodologies) in a Production or Post-Production setting.

Key Competencies:Experience with Solumina and SAP is preferred.
Educational and Professional Background:A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables successful performance of job functions.A minimum of eighteen months of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, planning, or a related technical field.
Core Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive technical studies and operational analyses (both existing and proposed). Prepare detailed reports with recommendations for necessary equipment and optimal manufacturing methods (including operation sequences and methodologies for complex assemblies and installations).Develop detailed work instructions that enhance manufacturing efficiency and minimize defects in collaboration with the Operations Engineer.Create DRDI/DMT rework instructions to facilitate effective corrective measures.Generate MBOM in SAP/Solumina/Corridor (as applicable) to ensure all components specified by Engineering are incorporated during the assembly process.Assist in evaluating make-or-buy proposals and recommend corrective actions for assigned responsibilities; assess vendors, participate in vendor negotiations, and help resolve vendor-related issues.Conduct research and analysis related to assigned planning or projects to ensure compliance with requirements.Investigate and prepare justifications for equipment and facility requests.Perform productibility assessments from engineering drawings to identify opportunities for enhancing manufacturing capabilities to meet specifications. Engage in Design for Manufacturing evaluations with Engineering.Utilize statistical methods to forecast future manufacturing needs and potentials; input necessary data and generate reports as required.Audit co-workers' outputs based on established requirements and procedures, demonstrating knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering policies and procedures.Integrate Lean Manufacturing principles into current and future processes.With minimal supervision, lead and coordinate project implementations across multiple departments.Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to manufacturing processes as a team member or leader.Support all Safety, Sustainability, and Ergonomic initiatives.Assist in the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan.
Additional Responsibilities:Ensure adherence to Quality policies; recommend and implement procedures to enhance quality.Initiate and maintain accurate daily/weekly activity reports based on work output, as required.Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Qualifications:Demonstrated knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.Familiarity with Engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint interpretation, and shop mathematics.Proficient in operating computerized systems, including personal computers, CADAM, CATIA, Solumina, SAP, and Corridor.Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification or higher is preferred.
