Educational and Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the role. An advanced degree in engineering or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have 10 years of experience in the specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience across various technical disciplines, or 8 years in the specific technical discipline with a Master's degree, or 6 years in the specific technical discipline with a PhD.

Position Purpose:
To oversee the successful execution of significant manufacturing programs or to innovate research in areas of substantial scope and complexity that support the development and production of General Dynamics products and services.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

For the manufacturing processes assigned, the individual will provide and maintain comprehensive work instructions, drive enhancements in quality and efficiency, improve material presentation, manage daily work plans, supply metrics for quality and schedule performance, and coordinate necessary engineering and tooling modifications.

Select suitable methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to address complex manufacturing and engineering challenges aimed at process development and improvement within the manufacturing sectors.

Recognized as an authority by peers and others, providing consultation on the application of manufacturing and engineering principles in the manufacturing domain.

Offer technical support and training to Operations Engineers.

Proactively identify and resolve intricate issues within the manufacturing process through innovative and effective solutions, establishing standards and guidelines for diverse engineering and manufacturing activities that impact the successful production of aircraft and system installations.

Adopt a problem-solving approach that balances product quality, cost, and performance against schedule requirements. Operate with a high degree of autonomy; work is evaluated from a long-term perspective for desired outcomes. Exercise discretion in determining technical objectives of assignments and make decisions and recommendations that are acknowledged as authoritative.



Additional Functions:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in the field of specialty and related aircraft sectors to propose innovations that enhance the quality and effectiveness of company products.

Perform other duties as assigned.
