Position Title: Avionics Systems Engineer II in Gulfstream Aerospace

Unique Skills:
Proficiency in electrical systems and avionics design, along with a strong understanding of aircraft manufacturing processes.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables the candidate to perform the essential functions of the role.

A minimum of 18 months of relevant engineering experience is expected.

Experience may be credited for advanced degrees, limited to 2 years for a Master's and 4 years for a PhD in a field applicable to the position.


Position Purpose:

This role involves conducting engineering tasks related to the analysis and resolution of technical challenges associated with the research, design, development, service, and production of Gulfstream aircraft.


Key Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  • Addresses standard engineering challenges within the assigned discipline.
  • Offers technical support to engineering teams and aids in achieving project milestones.
  • Manages a complex engineering project or a simpler full project.
  • Adheres to established timelines while formulating plans for engineering tasks.
  • Secures the necessary supervisory approvals to ensure work accuracy and adequacy.
  • Effectively applies organizational policies and procedures.

Additional Functions:

Proactively seeks to enhance daily operations and ensures that all outputs meet customer expectations.

Maintains current knowledge of advancements and applications of technical principles, theories, and concepts within the area of expertise.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Other Requirements:

The level of technical skills and abilities required for this position will be determined by each discipline.

Utilizes knowledge to devise solutions for a range of technical issues of moderate scope and complexity, employing a mix of judgment with established practices and procedures.

Inadequate results, erroneous decisions, or recommendations may lead to delays in program timelines and/or necessitate additional resources.

Ability to articulate technical concepts in both written and verbal forms.

Interactions are primarily within the organization, with occasional customer engagements on routine matters.

Operates under general supervision for routine tasks of minor complexity.

With guidance, can coordinate activities for junior engineering staff.
