Required Skills:

Educational Background:

A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is essential, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that enables the successful execution of the job's primary responsibilities.

Experience:

A minimum of eighteen months of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, planning, or a related technical field is required.

Role Overview:

With minimal oversight, the Manufacturing Engineer II will independently prepare, execute, and assess analyses aimed at enhancing planning and resolving manufacturing challenges (including production methodologies and protocols) within a specific function. This includes aspects such as layout, production flow, tooling, production equipment, material fabrication, and assembly methods in both Production and Post-Production settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct complex technical studies and operational analyses (both existing and proposed). Generate reports with recommendations for necessary equipment and optimal manufacturing methods.
  • Create detailed work instructions to enhance manufacturing efficiency and minimize defects in collaboration with the Operations Engineer.
  • Develop rework instructions to facilitate effective corrective actions.
  • Generate MBOM in SAP/Solumina/Corridor to ensure all components specified by Engineering are incorporated during assembly.
  • Assist in evaluating make-or-buy proposals and recommend corrective measures for designated responsibilities; assess vendors, participate in negotiations, and help resolve vendor-related issues.
  • Conduct research and analysis for assigned planning or projects to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Investigate and prepare justifications for equipment and facility requests.
  • Perform productibility assessments from engineering drawings to identify enhancements in manufacturing capabilities.
  • Apply statistical techniques to forecast future manufacturing needs and generate necessary data or reports.
  • Audit colleagues' outputs based on established requirements and procedures, demonstrating knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering policies.
  • Integrate Lean Manufacturing principles into current and future processes.
  • Lead and coordinate project implementations across multiple organizations with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies in manufacturing processes as a team member or leader.
  • Support all Safety, Sustainability, and Ergonomic initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan.

Additional Duties:

  • Ensure adherence to Quality policies; propose and implement procedures to enhance quality.
  • Maintain accurate daily/weekly activity logs based on work output as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • Familiarity with Engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint interpretation, and shop mathematics.
  • Proficient in operating computerized systems, including personal computers, CADAM, CATIA, Solumina, SAP, and Corridor.
  • Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification or higher is preferred.
