CFC is seeking a Senior Meeting and Events Planner to become an integral member of the Events and Training team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the planning and logistics of organizational meetings and special events. The Senior Meeting and Events Planner will be accountable for tracking event budgets and ensuring that project milestones and objectives are achieved.

As a Senior Meeting and Events Planner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with executive management, board members, and both internal and external stakeholders to comprehend their needs and strategies for events and meetings throughout the fiscal year.
  • Delivering corporate meeting and event planning services to guarantee that all venue and logistical arrangements are executed with the highest quality and efficiency.
  • Working alongside internal teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to define event scope and deliverables, serving as a liaison to senior executives and industry leaders throughout the planning stages.
  • Negotiating and managing contracts with external entities while fostering strong relationships with other national cooperative organizations.
  • Staying informed about current and emerging trends in event planning, design, and production, proactively identifying and addressing operational challenges.
  • Overseeing on-site meeting and event details to ensure that headquarters events receive exceptional customer service and excellence.
  • Managing the processing and reconciliation of the meeting and events budget.
  • Recommending process improvement opportunities within the Events team.
To excel in this position, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in managing various aspects of membership or corporate meetings.
  • Certification as a Meeting Professional (CMP).
  • Preferred experience with Mass E-Mail, Survey, Registration, Mobile App, and Salesforce platforms.
  • Advanced expertise in planning meetings and events in both large-scale and smaller/internal venues.
  • Strong negotiation skills for contracts and suppliers, along with a solid understanding of Food & Beverage needs and the ability to adapt as necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to effectively engage with all levels of management, vendors, and partner organizations.
  • Proven experience in implementing budgets and comprehensive work plans.
  • Proficiency in Registration systems (specifically Cvent) and membership database systems, Salesforce, and MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • A keen attention to detail with strong organizational abilities.
  • The capacity to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities as required.
