Position Overview

The BIM Technician I-IV plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality modeling services across various projects. This position is focused on onsite collaboration and is not available for remote work. The selected candidate will be instrumental in leading the production team, ensuring that project drawings are created efficiently and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Family Development Team to refine standards and meet project-specific requirements.
  • Develop custom families tailored to the projects under your leadership.
  • Oversee and manage the modeling and documentation processes for assigned projects.
  • Organize and delegate tasks to ensure timely project deliverables.
  • Prepare and optimize background drawings/models for integration into the Revit environment.
  • Create comprehensive Revit models utilizing input from various trades.
  • Coordinate with project coordinators and detailers to streamline workflows.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of work produced by team members before submission to the project team.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary information and adhere to non-disclosure agreements.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed based on the specific role within the business unit.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Computerized Drafting or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, with a solid understanding of electrical symbols and drafting standards.
  • A combination of education, training, and practical experience is acceptable.
Essential Skills:
  • Proficient in the latest modeling software, particularly Revit, with the ability to create and modify families, views, and schedules.
  • Ability to provide clear verbal and written instructions that translate into effective design documents.
  • Thorough understanding of BIM processes and workflow methodologies.
  • Experience in creating parametric families and managing complex geometries.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Navisworks and Autodesk Design Review.
  • Strong skills in 3D layout and design.
  • Competence in document management and reproduction systems.
  • Ability to import various document types into Revit projects.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Self-motivated and a proactive team player.
  • Professional interaction with all levels of staff, clients, and vendors.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily an indoor setting with typical office conditions, including extended periods of sitting and computer use.
