Ardmore Roderick is currently seeking qualified Resident Engineers (RE) to contribute to our Rail and Transit division. The REs will report to a Project Manager or Group Manager, with work locations determined by project assignments, involving both office and field activities. This role will act as Ardmore Roderick's primary representative for all construction management duties associated with the designated project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee construction inspection and documentation for significant projects, managing Field Engineers, Inspectors, and other construction management personnel.
  • Handle all resident engineering tasks on construction projects, documenting, monitoring, and resolving field issues while focusing on project timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure construction management staff adhere to established filing systems and procedures, tracking submittals, RFIs, NCRs, and daily progress reports.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings with Contractors, Subcontractors, Designers, and Client Representatives.
  • Assess potential change orders and supervise the preparation of documentation for changes in work.
  • Conduct research on contract specifications and drawings for field engineers as needed.
  • Verify that quality control tests and inspection records are submitted promptly, ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and project filing systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience with software tools such as eBuilder, Bluebeam, and HCSS is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with field and office staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

A B.S. or B.A. degree in a relevant construction-related, technical, or engineering field is preferred. Alternatively, candidates should possess substantial verifiable education, training, and experience in construction and engineering, with a minimum of ten years in field management, inspection, testing, and documentation on major construction projects.
