A DAY IN THE LIFE:
  • Participate in post-award review meetings to gather project details for pre-construction planning.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to develop a schedule of construction activities, organizational structure, staffing, and equipment needs.
  • Oversee and manage the entire construction project to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines while achieving expected profitability.
  • Assist the project manager/engineer in their responsibilities, including timely material shipments and obtaining approvals for shop drawings and material samples.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to ensure effective performance and integration with project schedules.
  • Promptly inform all supervisors and subcontractors of any changes to the construction schedule.
  • Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports to accurately reflect actual expenditures.
  • Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant documentation.
  • Maintain open communication with the owner and their representatives regarding construction progress.
  • Work amicably with architects or owner representatives while prioritizing the company's long-term interests.
  • Conduct job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
  • Regularly report to the project manager to keep them informed about job progress, plans, and potential issues affecting costs or schedules.
  • Maintain a daily log to document significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, and communications.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the company's safety protocols throughout all project phases.
  • Make informed decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Organize personnel, tools, and equipment while managing multiple activities to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities by effectively addressing challenges, guiding others, and resolving conflicts.
  • Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes, implementing necessary changes, and utilizing customer feedback for improvements.
  • Act with integrity, supporting the company’s values and its employees while maintaining a focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 0-2 years of experience in construction, specifically on warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or cold storage projects of at least 100,000 square feet.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and project scheduling software.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license in your state of residence.
