Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Control Systems Designer to join our team at Applied Resource Group. This role is crucial for developing and maintaining control systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed drawings and documentation tailored to specific projects, adhering to established standards and protocols.
  • Provide essential technical assistance to both team members and clients.
  • Support the training of technicians and apprentices in control panel assembly as directed by management.
  • Organize and manage project components and inventory within the panel shop.
  • Compile and submit material lists for procurement based on project requirements.
  • Keep management updated on project progress and any challenges faced during control design and assembly phases.
  • Ensure all departmental checklists and documentation are completed promptly.
  • Conduct pre-job evaluations and complete necessary screening forms.
  • Review sales or customer communications against working quotes for accuracy.
  • Notify supervisors of any significant cost or design inconsistencies.
  • Order long-lead items at the earliest opportunity.
  • Develop schematic and wiring diagrams as needed for projects.
  • Generate comprehensive bills of materials for control panel assembly.
  • Release orders for outstanding project components.
  • Create layout diagrams for panel assembly.
  • Provide detailed terminal strip drawings for control enclosures and junction boxes.
  • Design festoons and E-Chains, ordering all necessary materials.
  • Complete assembly diagrams as required.
  • Procure any materials not typically held in inventory.
  • Assess runway conductor and current collector needs, placing orders accordingly.
  • Deliver as-built drawings for project documentation.
  • Ensure all relevant design materials are copied to the designated directory on the main server.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in developing industrial motor control systems is essential.
  • Familiarity with the overhead crane industry is preferred.
  • Background in electro-mechanical products.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC motors.
  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Understanding of NEC and UL guidelines and processes.
  • Experience with general manufacturing practices.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design, particularly with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

This position offers a permanent role with compensation commensurate with experience.
