Key Responsibilities:

  • Create detailed drawings and documentation tailored to specific projects, adhering to established protocols.
  • Offer technical assistance to both internal teams and external clients as needed.
  • Facilitate training sessions for control panel assembly technicians and apprentices under the guidance of the department manager.
  • Organize and manage project components and inventory within the panel shop.
  • Compile material lists for procurement based on project requirements for the purchasing manager.
  • Keep the department manager updated on project progress and any challenges faced during the control design and assembly phases.
  • Ensure all departmental checklists and documentation are completed promptly.
  • Conduct pre-job assessments and complete the necessary screening forms.
  • Cross-reference available sales or customer communications with the working quote.
  • Notify supervisors of any significant cost or design inconsistencies.
  • Procure long lead time items as early as possible.
  • Develop schematic or wiring diagrams as dictated by project needs.
  • Create comprehensive bills of materials for control panel assembly.
  • Authorize orders for outstanding job components.
  • Design panel layout diagrams for assembly purposes.
  • Generate detailed terminal strip drawings for control enclosures and junction boxes.
  • Design festoons/E-Chain and procure all necessary materials.
  • Prepare assembly diagrams as required.
  • Order any materials not typically maintained in inventory.
  • Review requirements for runway conductors and current collectors, and place orders accordingly.
  • Provide as-built drawings for completed projects.
  • Store all relevant design materials in the designated directory on the main server.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing industrial motor control systems.
  • Experience in the overhead crane sector.
  • Background in electro-mechanical products.
  • Familiarity with AC and DC motors.
  • Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Understanding of NEC and UL standards and procedures.
  • Experience with general manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design, particularly with AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

This position offers a direct hire opportunity with compensation commensurate with experience.
