- Raw material testing.
- Pre- and post-pour inspection of forms and products.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Supervisors to increase quality of product and services in the most efficient manner.
- Development and testing of raw material and concrete mix designs.
- Recordkeeping of all testing and inspection data.
- Maintenance of lab equipment and arranging for calibrations, preventative maintenance repair and adjustments.
- Monitor and analyze quality data/processes and notify management of quality problems.
- Assure compliance with the Precast Quality Manual & PCI quality manual.
- Batch Plant operations and operators, assuring all processes and procedures are followed, including correct functioning of moisture probes and daily viewing of BP reports.
- Assuring finishes and dimensions are according to job specifics for every panel and 28-day strengths are reached prior to shipping.
- Communicates with Engineering concerning questions or problems with drawings or details.
- Ability to identify color/texture, pouring issues, concrete strength or consistency problems and diagnose a remedy.
- Designs and implements Quality Control training programs for QC personnel.
- Performs additional duties as requested or required.
- 5-10 years' experience related to concrete construction/inspection.
- PCI level 2 preferred.
- ACI Concrete field-testing technician.
- Need to be skilled in using Excel, word, and Teams software.
- 1-2 years of previous related supervisory experience.
- Must be able to wear personal protection (PPE) such as steel toe work boots, respirators, hard hats, hi-vis vests, safety glasses and hearing protection.
- This is an outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
- Exposed to moving construction vehicles such as forklifts, front-end loaders, cranes, and tractor-trailers.
