Position Overview:

This position is accountable for upholding a superior level of customer service within the front-end operations of the store. The individual will oversee and guide all front-end activities in the absence of the Customer Service Manager, ensuring that the operational shifts at the front end align with the financial objectives of the store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately execute all transactions, including cash, checks, debit/credit/EBT cards, and other payment methods, adhering to established policies.
  • Ensure prompt and orderly handling of return-to-stock items, prioritizing perishable goods.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of product locations within the store.
  • Stay informed about promotional items, special pricing, and coupon offers relevant to the store's sales initiatives.
  • Train team members to perform all departmental tasks and functions effectively.
  • Manage the selection, scheduling, and oversight of staff to achieve or surpass departmental productivity standards.
  • Address spoiled or damaged products in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, appealing, and well-stocked department.
  • Adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Safety Guidelines.
  • Comply with Food Safety and Cleaning Standards.
  • Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
  • May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer service needs.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Proficient in computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.).
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
  • Accounting and bookkeeping skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets.
  • Skills in delegation, direction, and implementation.
  • Knowledge of suggestive selling and product information.
  • Detail-oriented approach.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The role may require lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is expected to stand and walk for extended periods and may frequently bend, stoop, twist, and turn.

This position is subject to a typical retail environment, which may include varied temperatures and exposure to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is generally low to moderate.
