Job Overview

Position: Well Servicing Operator

Reports To: Tool Pusher

Overview: The Well Servicing Operator plays a critical role in managing and executing daily rig operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that all activities align with company standards, safety protocols, and operational procedures. The Operator will oversee the rig's operation, guide crew members, and emphasize safety and efficiency to provide exceptional service to clients.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Completion of the following assessments:
    1. Drug Screening
    2. Fit for Duty Functional Test
    3. Audiogram
    4. Criminal Motor Vehicle Record Background Check

Key Responsibilities:

  • Executing rigging operations, including derrick tasks and ensuring the stability of the rig
  • Supervising crew members and delegating tasks effectively
  • Managing equipment such as rods, tubing, and casing
  • Operating essential machinery including power swivel, crown, and floor saver
  • Assisting with BOP unit operations and conducting tests
  • Performing maintenance and inspections on equipment
  • Upholding and promoting safety standards
  • Addressing equipment issues and overseeing maintenance
  • Facilitating clear communication among team members and stakeholders
  • Accurately completing safety and operational documentation
  • Providing training and mentorship to junior personnel
  • Exhibiting flexibility in work hours and additional responsibilities as required

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks
  • Leadership capabilities and effective delegation skills
  • Willingness to extend work hours as necessary

Education and Experience:

A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

  • At least three years of experience in workover rig operations is preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:

A valid Driver's License is required; a Commercial Driver's License is preferred.

  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
  • Fall Protection Training
  • OBOW - One Basin One Way Certification
  • Confined Space Training
  • Loader Training
  • Wild Well Control Certification

Physical Demands:

The role requires regular sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy items at the rig site.

  • Exposure to various weather conditions and elevated noise levels is expected.
  • May involve working at significant heights.
