Job Overview

The Human Resources Talent Acquisition Specialist is essential in collaborating with various departments to streamline the hiring process. This role encompasses advising on sourcing strategies, assisting senior management with recruitment initiatives, and overseeing team members. The successful candidate will lead recruitment efforts, evaluate program effectiveness, and provide training to hiring managers. The ideal applicant possesses strategic thinking abilities, a mindset geared towards process enhancement, leadership experience, and exceptional communication skills.

Work Environment

Work activities are conducted in a climate-controlled office environment, which may involve prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and using a computer mouse. The role requires standing for varying durations and walking moderate distances. Occasional physical activities such as bending, reaching, lifting, and moving items up to 25 pounds may be necessary. Regular tasks necessitate the ability to swiftly adapt to changing priorities, including resolving conflicts. Clear verbal communication, reading, and writing skills are essential.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree along with four (4) years of professional experience in human resources; OR, eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Workday HRIS: Skilled in utilizing the Workday HRIS system for managing recruitment and employee data.
  • Innovative Problem Solving: Capable of creatively developing and implementing recruitment processes and strategies.
  • Recruitment Knowledge: Extensive experience in recruitment or human resources, with a solid understanding of screening, interviewing, and hiring practices.
  • Employment Law Acumen: Comprehensive knowledge of employment law standards, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Department of Labor regulations.
  • Customer Service Skills: Familiar with effective customer service techniques in a recruitment context.
  • Confidentiality Awareness: Understanding of methods to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, along with effective listening skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, adjust to shifting priorities, and manage frequent interruptions.
  • Sourcing Expertise: Proficient in leveraging LinkedIn, job boards, social media, and other platforms to identify high-quality candidates.
  • Staffing Agency Experience: Background in full life-cycle recruiting within a staffing agency.
  • Familiarity with ASU: Experience in a Human Resources Recruitment role at ASU.
  • Training Experience: Proven ability to train large groups in recruitment practices.
