Compensation Range: $22-28 per hour

Position Summary

The SUD Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the performance and development of the BHT staff. This position involves scheduling staff to meet the needs of the facility, providing training to ensure competency in job functions, and conducting ongoing education and annual competency assessments. The BHT Supervisor is also responsible for performing advanced indirect and selected direct patient care tasks in alignment with clinical protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all established policies and procedures.

  • Provide leadership to the BHT team and effectively delegate tasks.
  • Assist in orienting newly assigned BHT personnel.
  • Conduct observation rounds and document findings in accordance with policy.
  • Review and audit BHT rounds, offering constructive feedback.
  • Participate in facility checks related to Quality Assurance protocols.
  • Respond to on-call inquiries from BHT staff as needed.
  • Schedule BHT staff and ensure coverage during absences.
  • Assign responsibilities to Behavioral Technicians on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Ensure timely completion of shift reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
  • Monitor staff adherence to program policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Facilitate patient adherence to the Daily Schedule and room assignments.
  • Communicate any schedule or room changes to all relevant departments.
  • Lead morning Community Meetings for patients as assigned.
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties as required.
  • Facilitate and lead daily group sessions as directed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, contributing to discussions.
  • Complete all mandatory online training and maintain up-to-date HR documentation.
  • Oversee the self-administration of patient medications when applicable.
  • Record vital signs as directed.
  • Coordinate sign-up sheets for optional patient activities.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Support patients in packing their belongings and escorting them as necessary.
  • Foster positive working relationships with inter-departmental personnel.
  • Create a warm and supportive atmosphere throughout the unit.
  • Assist in escorting patients to activities and social events.
  • Supervise patient fitness activities as needed.
  • Support dietary processes including distribution and reminders.
  • Assist with the intake process for new admissions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • When required to transport patients, ensure vehicle safety and compliance with operational protocols.
  • Accompany and transport patients as assigned, ensuring timely arrivals for appointments.
  • Practice defensive driving techniques and adhere to transportation safety protocols.
  • Report any transportation-related concerns to leadership.

This is a full-time position.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a behavioral health setting is strongly preferred.
  • Leadership experience is advantageous.
  • Valid and unrestricted State Driver's License if applicable.
  • At least 1 year of sobriety if in recovery.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of documenting in electronic systems.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire, with annual recertification.
  • De-escalation/restraint technique certification required within 90 days of hire, with annual recertification.
  • Medication training required within 30 days of hire if applicable.
  • Completion or enrollment in an approved counselor certification program is preferred.
