Position Overview

Compensation: $100,000 to $115,000 annually.

Role Purpose:

The selected candidate will be tasked with the development, implementation, and maintenance of the asset management program. This role involves fostering a culture of asset management and collaboration between the operations and engineering teams. The individual will oversee the electro-mechanical workforce and contractors to ensure the reliability and readiness of critical assets for the uninterrupted provision of safe drinking water. A strong emphasis on promoting safe work practices is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the creation of a risk mitigation strategy to enhance asset lifecycle costs and improve equipment reliability.
  • Establish a continuous improvement culture through effective workforce and asset management leadership.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and implement asset management optimizations aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop predictive strategies to monitor equipment condition, prevent failures, and minimize operational and maintenance costs.
  • Enhance inventory management by applying industry best practices and reducing costs based on risk assessments.
  • Manage projects and provide support for the implementation of leading industrial methodologies.
  • Prepare and oversee the annual operating expense plan and maintenance budget.
  • Review budget reports regularly to ensure compliance and effective management.
  • Oversee maintenance training and safety compliance, ensuring adequate training for supervisors.
  • Provide recommendations and support to the Engineering Department for capital projects.
  • Submit capital expenditure requests and ensure departmental alignment with planned expenses and performance targets.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators in collaboration with asset stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to review and promote best practice KPIs.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and training for staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory maintenance requirements.
  • Implement rigorous maintenance practices to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Offer expertise in the development or enhancement of the Enterprise Asset Management System (EAM Infor).
  • Assist other departments with related projects by providing manpower or machinery as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory maintenance requirements.
  • Participate in emergency duty rotations, addressing operational issues as they arise.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in the electro-mechanical maintenance field and recommend improvements for existing equipment.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role within the electro-mechanical sector.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Able to effectively engage with all levels of staff and management.
  • Skilled in planning, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Knowledgeable in water utility operations and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to be on emergency standby.
  • Familiar with best practices in environmental health and safety.
  • Understanding of PLC programming and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of high voltage equipment maintenance.
  • Experience in maintenance management planning.
  • Extensive knowledge of pumps, motors, and hydraulically operated equipment maintenance.
  • Familiarity with water treatment chemical application equipment.
  • Competent in basic machine shop skills.
  • Able to analyze complex operational and technical challenges and provide solutions.
Certifications:
  • Technical certifications in relevant fields and/or a degree in Engineering is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and climb stairs.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods while using a computer.
  • Must have clear vision and hearing abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
