POSITION OVERVIEW
Four Sisters Inns is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to oversee the upkeep of two exquisite properties located in Santa Monica and Playa del Rey. This individual will be instrumental in ensuring the hotels operate smoothly, possessing a diverse skill set that includes electrical work, plumbing, drywall repair, painting, framing, and machinery maintenance. Our ideal candidate will assist management with physical tasks such as lifting and moving furniture and mattresses. With a commitment to quality workmanship, this versatile professional will be vital in maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of our properties.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 4 to 5 days per week, 6 to 8 hours per day
- Shifts will alternate between our Santa Monica and Playa del Rey locations
- Monday through Friday availability required

- Conduct property maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, electrical work, painting, and other related responsibilities as assigned. Utilize both power tools and hand tools effectively.
- Manage purchases for equipment repairs while adhering to budgetary constraints. Regularly inspect and test machinery and equipment.
- Maintain grease traps and monitor machinery for unusual sounds to identify malfunctions, collaborating with supervisors for diagnosis and repair.
- Clean and lubricate machinery components to ensure optimal performance.
- Construct and repair wooden structures such as counters and partitions.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of safety policies in compliance with state and federal regulations, including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
- Utilize equipment and materials safely, following established safety protocols and common sense practices.
- Organize work and storage areas efficiently.
- Implement a preventive maintenance system for guest rooms and common areas.
- Communicate with management regarding tasks that exceed personal expertise.
- Complete additional tasks as requested by management or corporate staff.
- Begin work at one location and travel as necessary for supplies or maintenance tasks, submitting mileage for reimbursement.
- Maintain a daily log of completed work for payroll submission.
- Exhibit professionalism and promote a positive image of Four Sisters Inns.

Must possess reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and auto insurance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED; three to five years of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective communication skills with management and colleagues are essential.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Familiarity with basic algebra and geometry concepts is required.
PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to address practical problems and navigate various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Competence in interpreting diverse instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing duties, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions, with occasional exposure to electrical hazards. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
