POSITION OVERVIEW
Four Sisters Inns is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to oversee the upkeep of our distinguished hotels located in Santa Monica and Playa del Rey. This individual will be integral in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, possessing a diverse skill set across various trades such as electrical work, plumbing, drywall repair, painting, and machinery maintenance. Our ideal candidate will also assist management with physical tasks, including the relocation of furniture and heavy items. With a commitment to quality workmanship, this versatile professional will be vital in maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of our properties.

WORK SCHEDULE
  • 4 to 5 days a week, 6 to 8 hours daily
  • Shifts will alternate between our Santa Monica and Playa del Rey locations
  • Weekday shifts primarily

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, electrical work, painting, and other related duties as assigned. Utilize both power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Manage procurement for repair supplies while adhering to budgetary constraints. Regularly inspect and assess machinery and equipment.
  • Maintain grease traps and monitor machinery for unusual sounds, collaborating with supervisors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Perform cleaning and lubrication of machinery components.
  • Construct and repair wooden structures such as counters and partitions.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of safety protocols in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Utilize equipment and materials safely, adhering to established safety procedures.
  • Organize work and storage areas efficiently.
  • Implement a preventive maintenance schedule for guest rooms and common areas.
  • Communicate with management regarding tasks that exceed personal expertise.
  • Complete additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Log daily work activities and submit with payroll documentation.
  • Represent Four Sisters Inns positively and encourage similar conduct among peers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED; three to five years of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions. Proficient in writing reports and communicating effectively with team members. Capable of performing basic calculations and applying mathematical concepts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires regular standing, walking, and the use of hands for various tasks. The employee must frequently lift and/or move heavy objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor conditions. The noise level is typically moderate.
