Government Sales Team Leader

As the Manager of Government Group Sales, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and nurturing client relationships within the government sector by effectively showcasing the capabilities of our Groups department.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Consistently achieve or surpass key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Drive revenue growth by meeting or exceeding established sales targets through strategic negotiation, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Act as an advocate for government group clients, both internally and externally.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking new opportunities to expand market share.
- Ensure exceptional client satisfaction by maintaining open communication, addressing inquiries promptly, and delivering superior service throughout the booking process.
- Create customized proposals and presentations that highlight the unique features and services of our offerings, tailored to the specific needs of various group segments.
- Build a robust pipeline of opportunities through targeted agency prospecting.
- Implement effective time management strategies and maintain a consistent follow-up cadence with clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sourcing, marketing, and project management, to ensure seamless execution of group bookings.
- Adapt to new software, processes, and systems to support the team during rapid growth.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and challenges, adjusting sales strategies as necessary.
- Become an expert in presenting our value proposition within the government travel market.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of B2B sales experience, including at least 1 year in government sales, preferably within the hospitality sector.
- A passion for assisting federal, state, and local agencies in enhancing their group travel experiences.
- The ability to manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proven track record of thriving in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
- Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- A self-motivated and resourceful approach to professional growth in a competitive landscape.
- The capability to utilize a consultative sales approach to uncover additional opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Strong organizational skills and a history of retaining and expanding the customer base.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% annually.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this position ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 annually, with opportunities for performance-based incentives and an expected on-target earnings (OTE) of $90,000 to $100,000. Final compensation will be determined based on various factors, including prior experience and expertise.
This role is eligible for remote work, allowing flexibility in your work environment.
