The Trade Sales Leader is tasked with guiding a team of skilled sales professionals who excel at enhancing the Pella brand within the trade sector. The primary objective is to meet collective sales targets by mentoring and refining team members' abilities in relationship-based selling techniques across all Pella product lines. This role involves demonstrating market knowledge and fostering strong partnerships with clients. The aim is to expand market presence by consistently promoting the proactive establishment of new client connections. Additionally, the leader will coach and enhance value-based selling and precision skills to achieve profit margins and minimize errors necessary for sustained profitability. A commitment to achieving 100% customer satisfaction is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meeting team sales and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Increasing market share through networking, lead generation, and referrals.
  • Ensuring team profitability by emphasizing value and strategic pricing while controlling error rates.
  • Supporting sales consultants in acquiring new clients and securing initial sales.
  • Enhancing sales consultants' skills in engaging customers through consultative selling, addressing objections, and reinforcing closing techniques.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and retaining high-performing sales talent with HR collaboration.
  • Collaborating with sales consultants to represent Pella at industry events and professional gatherings.
  • Developing sales consultants to maintain a high level of product knowledge and advising customers on installation guidelines and accurate measurements.
  • Ensuring adherence to the Trade Selling Process in quotes and orders.
  • Driving customer loyalty by encouraging sales consultants to serve as the primary contact for clients, following up proactively.
  • Promoting independent decision-making while striving for first-contact resolution of client issues.
  • Assessing performance and providing necessary coaching and training.
  • Utilizing customer database tools to enhance sales consultants' management of client interactions.
  • Fostering a collaborative team environment for sharing best practices regarding sales challenges and market insights.
  • Working with Service/Operations teams to ensure effective after-sales service and installations.
  • Coordinating with Accounts Receivable to address potential billing issues.
  • Assisting in the development of marketing strategies and events.
  • Contributing to the creation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
  • Preparing presentations to communicate progress to various stakeholders.
  • Being available for sales consultants and clients during evenings and weekends as needed.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or three to five years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience. A valid motor vehicle record compliant with company standards is required. The ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and prioritize responsibilities is essential.

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to read and analyze documents related to contracts and work orders. Proficient in writing reports and business correspondence. Capable of verbally presenting information and responding to inquiries from clients and management.

Professional Skills:

Must maintain a professional appearance and adhere to company dress code, serving as a role model for colleagues and clients.

Reasoning Abilities:

Ability to solve practical problems and navigate various situations with limited standardization.

Physical Demands:

While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to drive, stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, and communicate. The employee may occasionally need to climb, stoop, kneel, or lift items up to 50 pounds using proper techniques. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Noise levels may vary from low to moderate.

Travel:

Most travel will be local, requiring the ability to drive to various locations for meetings and events.
