About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Service Representative to join our team at The Sherwin-Williams Company. As a Sales Service Representative, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong relationships with store associates and customers, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with store associates, store management, and other district managers to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously promote and represent the Sherwin-Williams brand and product strengths to customers and store associates, highlighting competitive advantages and competitor weaknesses.
  • Utilize the CRM system to document sales calls and store visits, and gather and document competitor intelligence information.
  • Conduct contractor events to promote products and increase sales, and ensure that promotions, pricing, and signage are set appropriately in each store.
  • Prepare Annual Growth Plans (AGPs) for assigned stores in the territory that meet or exceed sales and profit goals.
Training and Development
  • Conduct product knowledge (PK) training sessions for current and newly hired store associates, including features, benefits, and selling skills, and may include product demonstrations.
  • Conduct sales training to current and newly hired store associates.
  • Promotional Display training to store associates.
  • Training on how to conduct a color conversation with customers.
  • Train store associates on equipment, such as tinting machines.
Service and Merchandising
  • Assist store associates with tinting and mixing paint as needed.
  • Department review of all Sherwin-Williams products, including reviewing products on shelf to ensure they are fully stocked and properly displayed, and replacing defective products.
  • Make sales calls to residential repainters, remodelers, property maintenance managers, and local home builders to increase pro-paint sales.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
  • Review and manage Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, including expense management, mistint expense tracking, collateral expenses, and Travel and Expenses (T&E).
  • Assist other Sales Service Representatives as needed.
  • Attend required conference calls.
  • Attend local and non-local trainings as required.
  • Attend National Sales Meetings.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports in a timely manner, including mileage tracking and expense reporting.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.
  • 1+ year of previous experience in Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, or other Business-related field.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, with up to 9 Saturdays per year.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Strong Organizational and Communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish.
  • Conducting presentations to groups of employees.
  • Experience in Sales, Customer Service, or Merchandising.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • P&L/Budget Management.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed, with exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
  • May work in areas where noise levels are such that hearing protection is required.
  • May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.
  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
  • Work surfaces may include concrete.
  • Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and wear a respirator as required.
  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
  • Some travel to other locations, meetings, and/or seminars is required.
Technical/Skill Requirements
  • Must have the ability to learn to operate the in-store tinting machines.
  • Must be able to operate an iPhone and computer.
Travel Requirements
  • 50% or more (may be less, depending on Geographic Region).
