Electrical Engineer for Advanced Reactor Design

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Reactor Project Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Reactor Project Engineering department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule, with every Friday off, located in the Materials and Fuels Complex. INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing critical nuclear research, development, and demonstration capabilities.
Responsibilities:- Provide electrical engineering expertise for a novel advanced reactor design project.
- Apply engineering principles to electrical systems and power transmission and distribution for reactor design activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated systems for safe and reliable power delivery.
- Work with a diverse team of scientists and engineers on a novel advanced reactor design.
- Decompose project goals into defined design requirements using systems engineering approaches.
- Develop designs for secure, sustainable, resilient, robust, and reliable electrical power systems.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop functional and operation requirements.
- Establish and maintain configuration management of assigned systems.
- May oversee the design and maintenance of high-risk electrical systems operations.
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience, or Master's degree and 2 years of experience, or PhD and 2 years of experience.
- Relevant experience functioning as a project lead, project manager, or lead role.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'Q' clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Competitive salary range: Level 3 ($91,008 - $186,588) or Level 4 ($109,260 - $233,908).
