Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming patients in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Utilizing practice management software to establish provider records, digitize medical documents, and maintain insurance details.
- Ensuring registration forms are filled out completely and gathering necessary physician information.
- Confirming that patients have the required referrals on the day of their appointment.
- Checking insurance benefits and eligibility prior to patient visits and procedures.
- Collecting applicable payments from patients and accurately posting transactions.
- Balancing and closing the daily time-of-service batch.
- Assisting patients with inquiries regarding their balances and collecting payments as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized reception area, including the restocking of business cards.
- Supporting physicians and care center providers by keeping them informed of schedule changes.
- Performing various administrative tasks, such as answering incoming calls, taking messages, and routing them appropriately.
- Scheduling, confirming, and canceling patient appointments.
- Managing voicemail messages and rescheduling missed appointments.
- Assisting with record requests and managing the fax inbox.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in a medical office or similar environment
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks (eCW) is a plus
