About the Firm:
Berding & Weil LLP is a prominent legal practice focused on construction defect litigation and corporate counsel for homeowners associations. We are in search of a dedicated Accounts Receivable and Trust Administrator to enhance our financial operations. The successful candidate will possess a robust accounting background, particularly within a legal framework, and will have experience managing contingency case finances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of Trust Accounts: Ensure compliance and oversight of the firm's trust accounts, adhering to all legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Reconciliation of Contingency Settlements: Accurately reconcile financial settlements for contingency cases, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • General Excise Tax Administration: Manage GET responsibilities for operations based in Hawaii.
  • Monthly Bank Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliations of the firm's bank accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Financial Closing Processes: Assist in the monthly and yearly closing of the firm's financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain comprehensive financial statements and reports.
  • Client Financial Communication: Engage with clients regarding financial issues related to their accounts and cases.

Additional Skills (For Backup Support):

  • Daily Cash Management: Support the recording and reconciliation of daily cash transactions.
  • Client Billing Support: Assist in all aspects of the client billing process, including electronic billing for insurance-related matters.
  • Accounts Receivable Support: Address inquiries from clients and staff regarding accounts receivable.
  • Attorney Rate Structure Management: Aid in the establishment and oversight of attorney rate structures.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in an accounting role, with a preference for candidates with law firm experience.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
    • High level of confidentiality and integrity
    • Strong mathematical skills and financial data management
    • Proficiency in Office 365 applications
    • Familiarity with Surepoint/LMS systems
