Mechanics Bank is actively seeking a Retirement Account Management Specialist . We prioritize collaboration, strong partnerships, and the importance of in-person interactions in our workplace culture. This position will be conducted on-site.

The selected candidate will oversee the management of various small to medium-sized retirement accounts, including 401(k), Defined Benefit, and IRA accounts. The role involves collaboration with Plan Administrators, Actuaries, Plan Consultants, and Legal Advisors, alongside some responsibilities in Business Development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage account initiation and closure; handle contributions and distributions; facilitate asset transactions; produce trust accounting statements; ensure IRS compliance; process fee payments; and manage participant loans.
  • Comply with policies and procedures regarding minimum distribution requirements.
  • Guarantee the accuracy of all IRS documentation for tax purposes.
  • Oversee the client review process as the designated relationship manager, enhancing the client experience.
  • Act as a liaison for plan sponsors, actuaries, attorneys, clients, and service providers.
  • Identify and introduce potential business clients to our retirement solutions for small businesses.
  • Assist plan retirees and vested participants with their benefit options.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree is highly preferred; however, equivalent experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a financial institution is required.
  • Certification as a Charter Retirement Specialist (CRPS) or equivalent is preferred.
  • IRA Specialist certification (CISP) is desirable.
  • Experience in Customer Service is a plus.

Compensation:

Pay Range: $25-36 hourly, with the final compensation package determined by the applicant's work experience, education, and skill level, along with internal equity and market alignment.
