Position Overview:
The Senior Biomedical Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment by installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying the performance of sophisticated biomedical equipment and systems without the need for direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
The technician is expected to be proficient in utilizing all necessary testing equipment and tools essential for performing their duties effectively.

This role involves advising administrative, medical, and clinical personnel on the safe usage and proper operation of clinical equipment, as well as assisting in the formulation of specifications for the acquisition of new devices.

Additionally, the Senior Biomedical Technician contributes to departmental growth and enhancement by mentoring fellow associates.

Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree in a technical or electronics field or equivalent education/experience, including military training or academic coursework aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for Biomedical Equipment Technicians.
- A solid foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, English, and professional skills, along with advanced certifications and training as required.

Experience:
- A comprehensive understanding of common clinical terminology and life sciences, including anatomy and physiology.
- Extensive knowledge of computer systems and network architecture.

Public Safety & Compliance:
- Awareness of local and national public safety and regulatory standards.

Customer Service Skills:
- Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to effectively resolve organizational-level customer service issues.

Equipment Proficiency:
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical equipment, including radiological, laboratory, and network medical systems, enabling the execution of tasks beyond individual devices.

General Skills:
- Advanced understanding of electromechanical systems and devices.

Leadership Capabilities:
- Fully experienced with an exceptional skill set, capable of working independently and serving as a trainer or mentor to junior and mid-level staff.

Driving Requirements:
- Driving may be necessary for this role, and compliance with all state laws is expected. Proof of a valid driver's license and auto insurance may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Biomedical Technician certification upon hire.

Compensation:
The salary range provided is the base pay; additional compensation may be available for this role, including shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses.
