Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Company 3/Method Studios. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for deploying and managing our high-performance computing infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our systems and providing top-notch support to our artists and production personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy, manage, and support high-performance computing environments, including specialized workstations and servers, large storage systems, complex network infrastructures, and services.
  • Respond to production technical issues and inquiries, taking ownership and control to continuously improve support services and maintain a high level of end-user satisfaction.
  • Implement root cause analysis to identify and correct system faults, and simultaneously manage multiple customer cases in a demanding environment.
  • Create technical documentation and analyze and tune systems for performance, throughput, resource utilization, high availability, and scalability.
  • Travel to/from customer facilities and end-user locations for system deployments and configuration.
Requirements
  • Experience in the technology-supported field, with a strong understanding of video and audio standards.
  • Ability to follow best practices, in-house documentation, and established procedures.
  • Ability to act independently and proficiently in a high-stress level environment.
  • Experience supporting operators using Autodesk Flame/Smoke, Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, and other industry-standard tools.
  • Understanding of post-production workflows, including digital intermediate processes.
  • Experience with Theater, Edit, and Color Bay support, including monitor calibration.
  • Knowledge of networking, including IPs, subnetting, VLANs, firewalls, and other related technologies.
  • Experience with server/PC hardware, including custom building, parts replacement, and upgrades.
  • Operating systems, including Linux (Centos/RHEL), Windows, and MacOS.
  • Must be well-versed in Linux terminal and related tool sets.
  • Storage devices, including RAID, NAS, SAN (Fiber Channel).
