Role OverviewAn Equipment Engineer utilizes their expertise to boost production efficiency and deliver electrical, mechanical, vacuum, and software maintenance across various tool systems. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Implement equipment enhancements to improve reliability and throughput.
- Analyze key tool failure indicators such as MTBF and MTTR to refine maintenance strategies.
- Develop and optimize existing maintenance documentation.
- Engage with suppliers, engineers, and technicians to pinpoint essential spare parts and establish programs for optimal inventory management.
- Collaborate with EH&S personnel to identify and rectify safety concerns related to tooling and laboratories.
- Contribute valuable insights during the equipment selection process from a maintenance perspective.
- Leverage prior experience to negotiate spare parts and service agreements with vendors.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven experience in maintaining, repairing, and upgrading PVD, CVD, Evaporation, and Plasma Etch systems.
- Familiarity with Vacuum Technology, including Cryogenic, Turbomolecular, Rotary Vane, and Screw Pumps, along with a solid understanding of Ion, Convectron, and Capacitance Vacuum measurement gauges.
- BSEE or BSME with demonstrated experience.
- Knowledge of critical vacuum diagnostic tools such as Residual Gas Analyzers and Helium Leak Detectors.
- Comprehensive understanding of facility requirements for individual tools, including Power, Exhaust, Gas, PCW, CDA, and seismic tie-downs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with tool owners on essential tools to enhance vacuum, electrical, and software reliability.
- Effectively communicate the status of tool improvement initiatives and key metrics in detailed presentations to senior management.
- Experience with industry standards and practices in relevant technologies, with a strong preference for high-volume manufacturing experience.
- Engaged with vendors to secure resources such as Field Service and Labor support.
