Role Overview

An Equipment Engineer utilizes their expertise to boost production efficiency and deliver electrical, mechanical, vacuum, and software maintenance across various tool systems. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  1. Implement equipment enhancements to improve reliability and throughput.
  2. Analyze key tool failure indicators such as MTBF and MTTR to refine maintenance strategies.
  3. Develop and optimize existing maintenance documentation.
  4. Engage with suppliers, engineers, and technicians to pinpoint essential spare parts and establish programs for optimal inventory management.
  5. Collaborate with EH&S personnel to identify and rectify safety concerns related to tooling and laboratories.
  6. Contribute valuable insights during the equipment selection process from a maintenance perspective.
  7. Leverage prior experience to negotiate spare parts and service agreements with vendors.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in maintaining, repairing, and upgrading PVD, CVD, Evaporation, and Plasma Etch systems.
  • Familiarity with Vacuum Technology, including Cryogenic, Turbomolecular, Rotary Vane, and Screw Pumps, along with a solid understanding of Ion, Convectron, and Capacitance Vacuum measurement gauges.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSEE or BSME with demonstrated experience.
  • Knowledge of critical vacuum diagnostic tools such as Residual Gas Analyzers and Helium Leak Detectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of facility requirements for individual tools, including Power, Exhaust, Gas, PCW, CDA, and seismic tie-downs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with tool owners on essential tools to enhance vacuum, electrical, and software reliability.
  • Effectively communicate the status of tool improvement initiatives and key metrics in detailed presentations to senior management.
  • Experience with industry standards and practices in relevant technologies, with a strong preference for high-volume manufacturing experience.
  • Engaged with vendors to secure resources such as Field Service and Labor support.
