Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Market Director to join our team at Thrivent. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and development in our market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attract and Develop Talent
    • Develop and implement a strategic plan to attract and cultivate high-quality financial professionals (FPs) in our market.
    • Partner with our recruiting team to execute a plan to recruit quality talent by developing trusting relationships within our network and leveraging centers of influence.
    • Actively manage a pipeline of high-quality candidates and conduct selection interviews to assess their potential for success.
  • Develop and Support FPs
    • Demonstrate mastery of our financial advice process and model and coach FPs on its use.
    • Conduct joint field work with FPs to observe and offer feedback, and help with case preparation as needed.
    • Develop and execute a marketing plan to achieve FPs' goals, leveraging their relationships within their natural market, referrals, and communities.
  • Collaborate with Others
    • Inform and communicate with our leadership team regarding FPs' progress toward goals and success.
    • Facilitate connections between new FPs and veteran FPs to provide additional joint field work experiences or practice experiences.
    • Connect with our corporate resources to stay informed of best practices or changes that directly impact recruiting, launch, and veteran FPs.
  • Manage Market
    • Engage in business planning to set strategy for our market and determine how to meet goals.
    • Provide leadership and coaching to our market team.
    • Develop a healthy culture within our market, enabling good results and ensuring a culture of excellence.
  • Characteristics of Ideal Candidate

    • Credible, seen as an expert in what it takes to be a successful FP, both in sales process/methods and systems/technology.
    Requirements
    • Demonstrated track record of solid sales results.
    • Experience in using our financial advice process, Salesforce, and other Thrivent tools and systems.
    • Previous experience in attracting others.
    • Will and skill to commit to joint field work expectations.
    • Experience in leading groups, specifically in presenting and facilitating to drive understanding of concepts and practices that lead to new FP success.
    • Licensing: FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66 required or obtained within 90 days.
    • Satisfactory background check and clean compliance record.
    • Flexibility to travel within our organization and conduct business during evening hours.
    • Must have own automobile to use for business purposes.
    • Demonstrated track record of satisfactory performance.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Four-year college degree strongly preferred.
    • Professional designation or history of significant progress toward achievement preferred.
