POSITION OBJECTIVE:

  • The Employer Assistance Representative diligently oversees the I-Remit platform and Benefit Fund Administration system to maintain an accurate overview of an employer's benefit reporting and delinquency status. This role provides essential support to employers and the District Council through phone assistance to ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Refer employers with payment delinquencies to the District Council for appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Track employer benefit contributions via the I-Remit platform, Benefit Fund Administration system, and daily financial deposits.
  • Manage requests for the addition or removal of companies from the District Council's Further Action list.
  • Evaluate and update employer statuses, including active, inactive, dormant, and shut down.
  • Provide telephonic support to employers regarding delinquency concerns, benefit calculations, and reporting procedures.
  • Examine remittances, benefit shortages, surety, and discrepancy delinquency reports while maintaining communication across departments.
  • Assist employers with adjustments to previously reported benefits.
  • Verify the accuracy of information submitted by employers.
  • Forward refund requests along with necessary documentation to the Remittance Department.
  • Support Business Representatives via email, phone, or in-person to confirm the accuracy of information obtained in the field.
  • Notify the District Council's Job Tracking Department of any job-related issues.
  • Guide employers on online or check benefit payments.
  • Manage the deletion or voiding of I-Remit reports.
  • Facilitate the setup and resetting of passwords for I-Remit/URBAN.
  • Generate correspondence related to employer statuses.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a comprehensive list of employers with outstanding benefit payments.
  • Monitor all employers to assess their current standing regarding benefit reporting and payment obligations as per their Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Conduct daily updates of employer statuses on the Benefit Fund Administration and URBAN systems.
  • Alert the District Council of employers reporting benefits while inactive.
  • Keep a detailed log of communications with employers.
  • Produce various reports and queries as requested by employers, including jobsite tracking and employer records.
  • Inform Member Services of any issues encountered by employers regarding participant names and SSNs on the I-Remit/URBAN systems for resolution.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college education is preferred or at least two (2) years of customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to multitask across analysis programs, phone interactions, and data entry tasks.
  • Familiarity with Auditing Systems and Benefit Fund Administration Systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
