New York, New York, United States NADAP Full time

Position Overview

About the Organization:

NADAP is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on assisting individuals with medical, behavioral health, and social service challenges to achieve self-sufficiency. Our programs cater to underserved communities in New York City and Nassau County, offering a range of services including health insurance enrollment, assessment, care coordination, case management, professional training, and job preparation and placement. We are committed to fostering a culturally diverse workforce that promotes an inclusive environment, ensuring equal opportunities for all.

The Employment Support Specialist (ESS) plays a crucial role in providing both initial and ongoing case management, client assistance, job readiness training, and career evaluations for individuals enrolled in our Comprehensive Employment Services (CES). This role specifically addresses the needs of clients facing employment barriers such as substance use, legal issues, and various health conditions. The ESS is responsible for conducting outreach, introducing clients to CES offerings, facilitating enrollment, and helping clients set and achieve their employment aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely scheduling and complete intake appointments within 1-2 days of referral. The intake process includes assessments, program service reviews, demographic data collection, and identification of employment goals and challenges, culminating in the creation of a client profile.
  • Follow up as necessary to confirm enrollment criteria, secure signed consents, and maintain communication with referral partners. Intake services may be delivered via phone, virtually, or in-person based on client preferences.
  • Provide individualized support to a caseload of clients, including assistance with resume creation, interview preparation, and effective communication of their skills and experiences, while addressing employment barriers.
  • Ensure the completion of a polished resume for each client within 7 days of intake, as this is vital for connecting clients with job developers.
  • Facilitate connections between clients and the Job Development team, scheduling mock interviews within 7 days of intake, with a focus on achieving monthly conversion goals.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate progress notes documenting all client interactions and outreach efforts within 24 hours, ensuring weekly contact until clients secure employment.
  • Collaborate with CES team members, actively participating in weekly meetings to discuss client progress and support job developers and retention specialists as needed.
  • Introduce clients to our online learning platform, which provides additional resources and career readiness content.
  • Utilize various software tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint, as well as web-based applications like Zoom and Microsoft Teams for remote service delivery. Organize schedules using Outlook calendar, including updates to a shared team calendar for client appointments.
  • Demonstrate comfort and professionalism when working with diverse client populations, including those experiencing homelessness or involved in the justice system.
  • Exhibit compassion and professionalism when discussing sensitive client information and personal histories, while supporting clients in identifying and overcoming employment barriers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in case management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is crucial. Strong organizational skills are necessary for effective file maintenance and data management. Experience with at-risk or reentry populations is highly valued; a vocational background is a plus.

Salary: $55,000-58,000/year
