The Senior Project Architect will engage frequently with high-level representatives from both existing and potential clients. This role is crucial in managing all client interactions, ensuring project team efficiency, and achieving overall client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating a confident yet approachable demeanor. Articulate communication and outstanding presentation abilities are essential. Reporting directly to the Managing Principal, the Senior Project Architect will collaborate closely to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and adhere to PBK's quality and service standards.

Your Contributions:

  • The Senior Project Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic initiatives across the region, contributing to the expansion of the Firm's consulting divisions.
  • Access to PBK's corporate resources and management support will be provided to help achieve these objectives.
  • Responsible for delivering services while fostering a positive culture and adhering to established office policies and procedures.
  • Oversee client relations, ensuring project team performance aligns with client expectations and satisfaction.
  • Guarantee project compliance with contractual agreements, including meeting program requirements, budgets, and clearly defined team assignments.
  • Supervise and guide various staff members to produce high-quality documentation that meets all project phase requirements.
  • Coordinate building envelope consulting and sub-consulting teams to execute tasks in a timely and organized manner, understanding all consultant roles involved.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with prospective clients, which is vital for business development.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing & Business Development teams to identify new opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Maintain positive client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, providing regular updates on progress and engaging with key project stakeholders for coordination and resolution of critical issues.
  • Encourage a supportive environment to enhance staff capabilities and oversee the recruitment of new talent to complement the existing skilled team.
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, to assign tasks to office support staff, consultants, and vendors respectfully.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings and presentations for clients effectively.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in decision-making, involving relevant parties in the process and ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Direct, organize, and mentor junior staff, overseeing their assignments.
  • Possess knowledge of construction administration within the region, with a solid understanding of project costs, procurement, and delivery phases to guide teams effectively.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance for the creation of construction documents, ensuring adherence to design intent and client standards.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Engage in professional organizations relevant to our clients.
  • Recognized as a leader in the field of Educational Architecture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in architecture, including at least 5 years of experience with DSA.
  • Familiarity with LEED is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in K-12 and/or Higher Education and/or Civic projects is essential.
  • Must be a Registered Architect.

Compensation:
The offered base salary for this position will vary based on individual qualifications, education, experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
