The Principal Architect will engage frequently with high-level representatives from both existing and potential clients. This role entails managing all aspects of client interactions, including the performance of project teams and overall client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, coupled with a confident yet approachable demeanor. Strong articulation and outstanding presentation abilities are essential.

Your Contributions:

  • The Principal Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic initiatives across the region, contributing to the expansion of the Firm's consulting divisions.
  • Access to PBK's corporate resources and management team will be provided to support the Principal Architect in achieving these objectives.
  • This position is accountable for the delivery of services, fostering a supportive culture, and collaborating with the management team to adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Oversee client relationships, ensuring project team performance aligns with client satisfaction goals.
  • Guarantee that projects adhere to contractual agreements, fulfilling program requirements, budget constraints, and clearly defined expectations for project teams.
  • Supervise and guide various staff members assigned to projects, ensuring the production of high-quality documentation that meets all deliverable requirements.
  • Coordinate and direct building envelope consulting and/or sub-consulting teams to execute tasks in a systematic, timely, and collaborative manner.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with prospective clients, which is crucial for success.
  • Collaborate closely with the firm's Marketing & Business Development departments to identify new opportunities and cultivate relationships.
  • Maintain positive client relationships throughout project execution, providing regular updates on progress and engaging with key project stakeholders for clarification and coordination.
  • Encourage a supportive environment that fosters the development of staff capabilities.
  • Oversee the recruitment of new talent to enhance an already skilled team.
  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, to delegate tasks to office support staff, consultants, and vendors.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings and presentations for clients effectively.
  • Demonstrate decisiveness; exhibit sound judgment; support and explain reasoning for decisions; involve appropriate individuals in the decision-making process; and make timely choices.
  • Direct, organize, and mentor junior staff, overseeing their assignments.
  • Possess familiarity with construction administration in the region, along with a solid understanding of project costs, procurement, and project phasing to guide the project team and clients.
  • Provide leadership, resources, and technical guidance for the creation of construction documents, ensuring adherence to design intent and client standards.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Engage in professional organizations relevant to our clients.
  • Establish a reputation as a leader in the field of Educational Architecture.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the architectural field, including at least 5 years of experience with DSA.
  • Familiarity with LEED standards is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in K-12 and/or Higher Education and/or Civic projects is essential.
  • Must be a Registered Architect.
