Position Overview

The Utility Compliance Coordinator plays a crucial role in assisting the Director of Compliance & Utilities Systems by managing various aspects related to licensing, permitting, and utility oversight. Responsibilities include analyzing billing, managing insurance claims, organizing documentation for private utility systems, and monitoring utility performance, all while ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and upholding its core values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and track compliance data using spreadsheets
  • Review monthly utility invoices and manage credit requests with utility providers
  • Support community managers with utility-related inquiries
  • Assist in the renewal of licenses and submission of permit applications
  • Extract and analyze invoice data from accounting software
  • Access online systems to retrieve water meter data
  • Provide insights and recommendations on utility matters
  • Communicate with field staff regarding incident reports, claims, and utility issues
  • Utilize various software systems and web applications effectively
  • Work from the Support Center at least three days a week
  • Be available for flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Supervisory Role

  • This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution, or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Accounting Software, Contract Management Systems, Inventory Software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Project Management Software.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Must have an active personal mobile phone.
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational abilities, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in utility billing is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Occasional standing and walking required.
  • Primarily a sedentary role with continuous sitting.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Noise levels in the work environment typically range from quiet to moderate.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of items over 20 pounds may be necessary.
