Position Summary
The Patient Access Services team is responsible for executing patient admissions and registration tasks. This role involves identifying patients' insurance coverage and financial resources to facilitate medical care and services. You will address routine customer service inquiries and manage essential admission paperwork while ensuring compliance with billing requirements. This intermediate-level position is designed for individuals with a robust background in patient registration and a solid understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure secure handling and precise recording of payments collected during service delivery.
  • Utilize customer service and healthcare coverage expertise to assist a diverse range of clients, patients, and families throughout the registration process.
  • Address routine patient escalations and assist with more complex registration issues.
  • Refer advanced or intricate registrations to senior team members.
  • Participate in projects of moderate complexity.
  • Welcome patients and initiate the registration process while maintaining professional communication with various staff members.
  • Meet individual productivity and performance metrics as established by department leadership.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to all individuals encountered.
  • Perform a variety of responsibilities across all areas of Patient Access Services operations.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible and relevant work experience.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are preferred.
  • Proficient in technology applications including Epic, insurance websites, and payment systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and eligibility requirements for various healthcare programs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients and staff at all organizational levels.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage complexity and stress in a dynamic environment.
  • Capacity to multi-task with attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Collaborative team player.

Compensation
The starting pay scale for this position is generally set at $35.14 per hour, with final compensation determined by various factors including experience and education.
