Job Overview

Last Mile Health is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations and ensure the integrity of financial reporting for the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with US GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the entire organization.
  • Review and approve US-based financial transactions.
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for revenue, expenditures, and statutory compliance.
  • Manage all external audits.
  • Develop organization-wide financial policies and procedures to guide country finance teams.
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting.
  • Oversee the usage and maintenance of financial systems and software.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, help to clarify roles and responsibilities, and develop and implement training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization to promote understanding of financial policies and processes.
  • Promote collaboration and effective communication within the finance team and across the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and donor compliance.
  • Significant experience coordinating external audit activities.
  • Keen analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated years of experience with financial software and ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board, or other outside partners.
  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • Progressive years of experience in financial management, preferably in the NGO or nonprofit sector.

Compensation and Benefits

Last Mile Health offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of USD $101,992- $118,531 dependent upon experience doing an equivalent role. Please note that this compensation is subject to statutory taxes.
